Letter to the Peterborough Examiner Editor Library Workers Support a Downtown Safe Injection Site

In the last few months, we have read several letters to the editor condemning the old Greyhound station location as a Safe Injection site. The opposition to the Opioid Hub site from property developers is disheartening to many of us who live and work in the downtown.

As community members, we see firsthand the impact of drug addiction so clearly every day. Without the safe injection site, substance users will continue to use on public and private property, which creates a danger to themselves and others.

As library workers, we support the Safe Injection site, as an immediate and effective response that will save lives.
